THE EXHAUSTED SUN RETREATS

The fieldwork for our postgraduate project was not easy. Under the intense and humid Caribbean morning heat, we conducted surveys on tourists. In the afternoon, we created visual material to convince tourists of the next day to fill our surveys. For a few months, this was our daily routine. Our mission was to find a solution to the funding problems faced by the whale shark's conservation efforts. This is a scene from one of those long days at Isla Mujeres. After a hot and exhausting day, we watched the sun hide behind the horizon.
